Flamingo Horticulture
Flamingo Horticulture is a vertically integrated horticulture business active in the growing, processing, marketing and distribution of sustainably, produced flowers and premium vegetables. The group consists of the Flamingo Flowers and Flamingo Produce, Flamingo Horticulture Kenya, Flamingo Horticulture South Africa, Omniflora, Dudutech, Flamingo Flowers BV (FFBV) and our joint venture business FV Seleqt. The group is a core supplier to most of the leading UK multiple retailers, as well as internationally to customers in Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, Japan and Australia. The quality of our processing operations, logistics network and our ideally located farming operations in Africa give us the infrastructure and technical capabilities to deliver an impeccable service to all of our customers, helping us maintain our position as one of the leading, global companies within our industry. We have UK sites in Stevenage, Sandy, Spalding and Weston and large scale farming operations in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. The FFBV and FV Select businesses operate out of the Westland region in Holland, the Omniflora business is located near Frankfurt airport in Germany and our Dudutech business is based in Naivasha, Kenya. The company was formed in 1982 and grew through a series of organic and acquisitive developments until 2007, when it was itself acquired by James Finlay Limited (JFL). Following a successful period, which saw a significant period of capital investment, under the ownership of JFL the business was sold to Sun Capital in November 2015 and reverted to using the name Flamingo Horticulture in January 2016. The group has an annual turnover in excess of £300 million and employs more than 10,000 people across all of our locations. We are an ethical business and are fully committed to principles of fairness and sustainability in all of the geographies in which we operate.
