John Newton is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in both military and civilian sectors. Currently serving as the Managing Director at Fleetway Inc. since July 2018 and Director on the Board of Directors at COVE, John has also held pivotal roles at Veterans Affairs Canada as a Liaison Officer and within the Canadian Armed Forces for over a decade. Notable positions in the Canadian Armed Forces include Rear Admiral Commanding Maritime Forces Atlantic, where responsibilities encompassed operational readiness and personnel management, and Commodore, overseeing strategic personnel policy for naval forces. John's previous leadership roles include Base Commander at Canadian Forces Base Halifax and a Commanding Officer of HMCS Fredericton. Throughout various board memberships, John has demonstrated a commitment to community service, evidenced by directorships at United Way of Halifax Region and Neptune Theatre. John Newton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University and completed the Advanced Military Studies Course at the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College.
