Kosala worked at Upfield as the Global Marketing Head for BlueBand and the Chief Marketing Officer for the Asia Pacific, NAMET, and Africa regions. Prior to that, they held various roles at Unilever, including Chief Marketing Officer for Africa, Middle East & Turkey, Asia, and Marketing Director for NAMET. Kosala was responsible for driving the marketing organization across multiple markets and managing the Personal Care category for French-speaking African countries. Kosala also had global marketing responsibilities for the Oral Care category at Unilever. Before their career at Unilever, Kosala started as an Executive/Management Trainee at National Development Bank PLC (NDB). Overall, they have a strong background in marketing strategy, brand management, innovation, and leadership.
Kosala Hewamadduma has a diverse education history in various fields. They hold a Commonwealth Executive MBA from the Commonwealth Learning Center, an MSc in Digital Marketing Leadership from the University of Aberdeen, and a Chartered Management Accountant (UK) degree from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. They also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (USA) qualification from The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). In the field of digital marketing, they have obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute, a Digital Marketing Qualification from Squared Online (created by Google & certified by the IPA), and completed executive education programs at Hyper Island.
