Matthew Proffett

Matthew Proffett is a Thermal Performance Engineer with extensive experience in aeronautical and mechanical engineering. Currently employed at Florida Power & Light Company since August 2022, Matthew previously served as a Senior Aero/Thermal Engineer at Pratt & Whitney from October 2016 to August 2022, leading engine validation and certification tests for both NGPF and military engine programs. Matthew's background also includes roles as a Flight Test Engineer and a Test Engineer for Pratt & Whitney's Next Generation Product Family aircraft engines, as well as engineering internships and consulting positions during academic studies. Matthew earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Aeronautical from The Florida State University and holds a high school diploma from Jupiter High School.
