David Merrick

David Merrick serves as the Director and Faculty member in the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program at Florida State University since 2009, where responsibilities include teaching various courses and lecturing on logistics and technology. Additionally, David holds the position of Director at the Center for Disaster Risk Policy, overseeing the research activities and project management. Previous roles include Deputy Director and Senior Analyst at the same center, as well as consulting work through David Merrick Technical Consulting. David's earlier experience includes positions as Lead Developer/System Administrator at Five Points Technology Group and Developer/System Administrator at PNMI, alongside a role as Network Administrator/Developer at Network Tallahassee. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Logistics Management with a focus on Humanitarian and Disaster Relief from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Florida State University.
