Thomas Ray

Thomas Ray, Ph.D., currently serves as the Dean of Language Arts at De Anza College since January 2011. Prior to this role, Thomas held the position of Dean of Instruction at Merced Community College District from June 2009 to January 2011 and served as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Dutchess Community College from July 2006 to June 2009. Thomas completed a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln between 2003 and 2012, and also attained an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature (ABD) at Louisiana State University from 1991 to 1997. Additionally, a BA in English and Theatre was earned from the University of Minnesota from 1986 to 1991, with a brief stint at the University of Cambridge in 1989-1990.
