Krista Larson joined Forestdale as the Assistant Executive Director for Preventive Services in July, 2020. She brings over 25 years of experience as a social worker, serving young people and families through direct practice, program development and management, and policy advocacy. Most recently she was the Director of the Center on Youth Justice at the Vera Institute of Justice, a national criminal justice reform organization based in NYC.

Forestdale’s roots go back 165 years, when a group of women affiliated with a church in Brooklyn founded an industrial school for children, which in 1980 became Forestdale. Forestdale is the only child welfare agency headquartered in Queens, with an exclusive focus on the particular needs of Queens' and Brooklyn communities & families.
