Thomas Rockel has extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently serving as Senior Managing Director for Germany and Central Europe at Charles River Laboratories, Rockel also holds the title of Senior Deputy Managing Director for Europe Operations and Managing Director of CR Microbial Solutions Germany GmbH. Additionally, Rockel works as a Technology Guide at Forschungszentrum Jülich within the Helmholtz Innovation Lab, focusing on disruptive digital diagnostics. Prior to these roles, Rockel was Associate Director for MDx QC Manufacturing at QIAGEN and Head of Cell Based Screening R&D at Miltenyi Biotec, where contributions included developing automated high-content screening methods and preclinical development. Earlier career positions included Workgroup Leader at Pfizer and a postdoctoral role at the Leibniz Institute for Environmental Medicine. Rockel earned a doctoral degree in Biology from the University of Düsseldorf.
