Douglas Tom, FAIA, serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture since May 2023 and is on the Board of Governors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco since June 2018. Additionally, Douglas is a Board Member at Safe & Sound since July 2017 and has been a member of the American Institute of Architects since 2011, designated as a Fellow. As a partner and founding principal at TEF Design since November 1997, Douglas has made significant contributions to the field. Douglas's past engagements include serving on the Board of San Francisco Heritage from January 2012 to December 2020, as a member of the Board of Trustees at Lick Wilmerding High School from September 2014 to May 2020, and as a board member of the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco until 2016. Douglas has also held former board positions at the San Francisco Education Fund and Envision Schools. Douglas's academic background includes studies at the University of California, Berkeley from 1971 to 1975.
