Norman Fong began their career in 2013 as a Web Development Intern at SCHAWEL+COLES, where they gained an aptitude for frontend quality assurance, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In 2014, they joined Workfront as a Software Engineer II, where they were promoted to Software Engineer III within a year. During their time at Workfront, they worked with a team of experienced developers to deliver programming solutions to issues and new features for the main AtTask hub. In 2017, Fong joined Fortem Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer Technical Lead. In this role, they helped develop software to control Fortem's DroneHunter autonomously and acted as a Scrum Master and Software Architect for the DroneHunter software. Norman also assisted with DevOps, web development, and flight automation. Technologies used included C++, Python, ROS, Linux, Bash, Java, and JavaScript.

Norman Fong obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Neumont College of Computer Science between 2012 and 2014. Norman also holds two certifications from Oracle: an Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer II certification obtained in February 2016, and an Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer certification obtained in April 2015.
