The Civil Engineer for Foth Infrastructure & Environment LLC in Johnston, Iowa will earn a salary in the range of $79,019 - $100,000. Telecommuting permitted up to three days a week. This position will provide civil engineering support and develop technical traffic analysis for roadway/transportation projects, including highways, streets, and multi-modal facilities. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop travel demand forecasts for current and future conditions;
  • Perform technical traffic analyses to identify traffic operations and safety related deficiencies for all modes;
  • Identify mitigation alternatives or safety countermeasures to correct deficiencies for current and future traffic conditions;
  • Design and develop roadway improvement plans, intersection concept drawings, and traffic control plans in compliance with engineering design standards and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) standard;
  • Design Street Lighting and Optic Fibers Connections and produce plans and quantities;
  • Perform field reviews of project study locations and develop public outreach surveys and assemble written and graphical summaries; and
  • Participate in and help present project findings in writing and at client meetings, technical group gatherings, and day or evening public meetings/hearings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Requires one year of transportation planning experience in the engineering industry.
  • The position requires one year of experience with each of the following: Proposal writing for transportation projects, Geographic Information Systems, Microstation, Technical Report Writing, Traffic Operations and Safety, Traffic Modeling Software, Synchro, Vistro, and Sidra, and Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Highway Safety Manual (HSM), and ITE Trip Generation.
