Christen Meyer

Art Therapist at Freedom Institute

Christen Meyer is a seasoned therapist and founder of Meyer Creative Arts and Psychotherapy, where work began in July 2020. Currently involved with Freedom Institute since January 2019 as an art therapist, Christen leads art therapy group sessions within an Intensive Outpatient Program focused on addiction treatment using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy concepts. At Bowery Residents' Committee since September 2013, Christen serves as a therapist and clinical supervisor, managing therapeutic services for mentally ill, chemically addicted adult males at a homeless shelter. Previous engagements include co-founding Art Therapy New York to Namibia and completing various internships, with a strong educational background in Art Therapy from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Art from Pepperdine University.
