Ian Rands (ACA) has a diverse work experience spanning a range of roles and companies. Ian is currently working as the Pricing Director at Freeths since April 2023. Prior to this, they were an Experienced Senior Commercial Finance Executive at DLA Piper LLP from January 2023 to April 2023.
Ian spent a significant portion of their career at DLA Piper, starting in 2001 and working until 2022. During this time, they held various positions including Head of Finance Business Partnering, Profitability Improvement Manager, and Financial Reporting Business Manager. In these roles, Ian was responsible for providing proactive commercial analysis, giving financial direction to the firm's Executive, managing pricing and profitability improvement projects, and rolling out a new global practice management and accounting system.
Before joining DLA Piper, Ian worked at Barlow Group as the Head of Commercial Management from September 2007 to July 2008. In this role, they focused on the financial close-out of projects, managed a team of cost managers, and implemented commercial controls to maximize final accounts.
Ian started their career at Hawsons as an Audit Senior, where they gained extensive audit experience and worked on due diligence cases for the Corporate Finance Department.
Overall, Ian Rands has a strong background in finance, commercial management, and pricing, and brings a wealth of experience to their current role as Pricing Director at Freeths.
Ian Rands (ACA) obtained a 2:1 BA Hons degree in Accountancy from The University of Sheffield, where they studied from 1993 to 1996.
