Susan Webster is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Fremont Group. She is a member of the Fremont Group Investment Advisory Committee and the Fremont Group Board.
Prior to joining Fremont, Susan was a partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. For more than thirty years, she represented public and private companies on a wide variety of corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, strategic alliances and joint ventures. She also counseled boards of directors and senior management on general corporate issues, including corporate and board governance, compliance, and other matters. As the first woman at Cravath to be elected a corporate partner and the third woman partner at the firm, she was actively involved in the firm’s diversity efforts and is recognized as a leader in promoting gender diversity in law and business. She began her career at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., a predecessor firm of KPMP LLP.
Susan serves on the Board of Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services in New York City. She is a Trustee Emerita of Wesleyan University and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Wesleyan Alumni Athletic Advisory Council. Susan is an emerita member of the Fordham Law School Advisory Board and served for fourteen years as a Trustee and Secretary of St. Bernard’s School in New York City.
Susan has a BA from Wesleyan University, a MS in Accounting from New York University Graduate School of Business, and a JD from Fordham University School of Law, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Fordham Law Review.
