Friends of Herring River (FHR) is now 15 years young! Created as a non-profit organization; serving as an essential partner to initiate and support the Herring River Restoration Project (HRRP) with the goal of restoring nearly 1,000 acres of degraded saltmarsh and coastal habitat. This is the largest such project in the Northeast U.S.
FHR has contributed thousands of hours of vital, in-kind volunteer and paid time to ensure the project began and stays on track by managing contracts, securing permits and grants, monitoring rare species, running events to keep the public informed, and so much more! 

VISION: A future with healthy, resilient and revered coastal ecosystems.
MISSION: To inspire and accelerate restoration of estuaries and ecosystems for the benefit of nature and all people.
