Friendship Circle of Michigan
Lisa Kowalski serves as the Adult Employment Program Coordinator at Friendship Circle of Michigan since November 2020 and has been the President of the Board of Directors at The Arc Of Oakland County since June 2008. With extensive experience in advocacy and education, Lisa coordinated the Disability Awareness Workshop from 1998 to 2021 and represented parents on the Oakland Schools Special Education Parent Advisory Committee from 1999 to 2020. Lisa held various roles within the PTA from 1996 to 2018, emphasizing enrichment and fundraising initiatives, and was the Chairperson of the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee from 2012 to 2016. Lisa was involved with the Autism Society Oakland County as a board member and served as President from July 2005 to July 2014. Prior experience includes a career as a Senior Buyer at General Motors from 1980 to 1993. Educationally, Lisa holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from General Motors Institute.

The Friendship Circle provides assistance and support to the families of children with special needs. In addition to helping those in need, the Friendship Circle enriches its vast network of volunteers by enabling them to reap the rewards of selfless giving. Our affiliate, Friendship House, provides support to individuals and families struggling with addiction, isolation, and other crises. The Friendship Circle was founded on the idea that within each person is a soul, and that soul is the same regardless of any limitations that may surround it. That regardless of whatever natural gifts we may have or lack, regardless of what obstacles and challenges we may confront, our souls are sacred and worthy of boundless love. We believe that every human being, regardless of background or faith, deserves the gift of true friendship. Friendship has a ripple effect on the community, impacting the lives of all involved, raising the consciousness of society at large.
