Kurt Bugbee

Kurt Bugbee is an accomplished engineer and investor with a track record of building mission-critical systems that scale. He is currently Head of Data Engineering at Fun.xyz, a high-velocity crypto payments infrastructure company that has raised over $47M. At Fun.xyz, Kurt is responsible for architecting and driving the data backbone that powers seamless, secure, and lightning-fast checkout experiences on-chain. Operating within a world-class team of just 22 people, he is building the systems that will define the future of crypto payments at global scale.

Previously, Kurt was a Founding Engineer at Transpose, where he engineered robust, real-time blockchain data indexing pipelines for large institutions. His work was instrumental in scaling the platform, which was acquired by Chainalysis in May 2023.

Before Transpose, Kurt served as an Engineering Lead at DigitalOcean from 2018 to 2022. He played a key role in developing and optimizing cloud infrastructure products that supported the company’s rapid growth and success, culminating in DigitalOcean’s IPO in 2021.

Since 2021, Kurt has also been active as an Angel Investor, providing funding and mentorship to early-stage technology companies. He draws on his deep technical expertise and entrepreneurial experience to help startups scale and achieve their goals.

Kurt holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he graduated in 2017.
