Gabriel Skantze

Co-Founder & Chief Scientist at Furhat Robotics

Gabriel Skantze is a distinguished academic and industry leader in the field of speech technology and cognitive science. Serving as a Full Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology since 2009, Gabriel has held various titles including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, in addition to being a Senior Researcher. As a co-founder and Chief Scientist at Furhat Robotics since 2013, Gabriel has contributed significantly to the development of advanced speech technologies. Additionally, Gabriel holds the position of President of SIGdial, a special interest group focused on discourse and dialogue, and serves as an Academic Supervisor for the WASP program. Previous experience includes a postdoctoral research position at Universität Potsdam, a PhD candidacy at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and a role as a Voice User Interface Designer at Pipebeach AB. Gabriel earned a PhD in Speech Technology from KTH and a Master of Science in Cognitive Science from Linköping University.
