KD Brown, MPL

KD Brown, MPL has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Their most recent role is as a Manager of Recruiting at FUSE Corps, starting in August 2021. Prior to that, they founded and directed Volunteering While Black, an organization that focuses on promoting volunteerism in the African American/African community and collaborates with nonprofits. From 2020 to 2021, they served as the Director of Community Youth Development at the University of North Texas at Dallas. They also worked at Relay Graduate School of Education as both a Manager of Prospective Student Advisement and Manager of Recruitment from 2018 to 2020. KD Brown has experience in the public sector, having served as a Recreation Superintendent at the City of Lancaster, TX from 2018 to 2019. They also worked as a National Recruitment Specialist- Southern Region at Urban Teachers from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, KD Brown has experience in program management, holding the role of OST Program Manager at Frazier Revitalization Inc. from 2015 to 2016. They served as the Community Center Program Director at Catholic Charities of Dallas from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they worked as an African American Community Relations Manager at Rescue Social Change Group from 2004 to 2014. Lastly, KD Brown worked as a Recreation Specialist at Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation from 2008 to 2013.

KD Brown obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music Business/Marketing from Allen University between 1999 and 2003. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Public Leadership from the University of North Texas at Dallas, completing it between 2016 and 2017. Most recently, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ethical and Creative Leadership from Union Institute & University, with a duration from 2019 to 2022.

In addition to their formal education, KD Brown also acquired certifications outside of their academic studies. They obtained certification as an SEA SEA Facilitator through UCLA Arts and Healing in March 2022. Furthermore, in August 2021, they received a certification in Learning LinkedIn Recruiter from LinkedIn.
