Prior to this, Chia worked as a Geotechnical Manager at MMC GAMUDA KVMRT (T) SDN BHD on the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line Project. Chia also has experience as a Geotechnical Engineer on the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line Project. Chia holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
