Marie Therese Dominguez

Marie Therese Dominguez is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public policy and management. Currently, Dominguez serves as Commissioner at both the Gateway Development Commission and the New York State Department of Transportation, roles held since October 2019 and May 2019, respectively. Prior experience includes serving as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Aviation Board, where oversight of aviation policies and budget allocations for Virginia's aviation development was provided. Additionally, Dominguez held the position of Administrator for the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration within the U.S. Department of Transportation, leading a major federal regulatory agency responsible for pipeline safety and hazardous materials regulations. Prior to this, Dominguez served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. Dominguez holds a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies/Government from Smith College and a Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.

Gateway Development Commission (GDC)

The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country – a comprehensive rail investment program that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and create new capacity for the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The NEC is the most heavily used passenger rail line in the country hosting more than 2,200 train movements and 800,000 passenger trips daily. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) is a single-purpose bi-State agency with Board members representing Amtrak and the States of New York and New Jersey. GDC is the project sponsor for the Hudson Tunnel Project.
