Jon Caldara serves as the President of the Independence Institute, a prominent free market think tank, since November 1998. In addition to this role, Caldara is a columnist for both The Denver Gazette and The Colorado Springs Gazette, and has hosted talk shows on 850 KOA, 630 KHOW, and 710 KNUS since December 1997. Previously, Caldara was the most read columnist for the Denver Post from October 2016 to January 2020. Additionally, Caldara served on the Board of Directors for the Regional Transportation District from November 1994 to January 1999, including a tenure as Chairman. Caldara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business from the University of Colorado Boulder, earned between 1984 and 1987.
