Maurizio Scanavino, born in 1973, obtained a degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Turin Polytechnic and has worked in the consultancy, automotive and publishing sectors with experience in Italy and abroad.
After beginning his career in Accenture and in the digital start-up Ciaoweb in 2004 he joined FCA as Brand Promotion Manager with responsibilities for marketing and communication for the brands Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia.
In 2007 he entered the publishing sector of the group as manager of the digital and marketing area for Editrice La Stampa, handling in particular product development and the digital portfolio.
In 2010 he became General Manager of the advertising agency Publikompass.
In 2013 he moved to Il Secolo XIX as Chief Executive Officer and following the subsequent merger with La Stampa he was appointed General Manager of the Itedi group.
Following the integration of the Espresso Group with Itedi, which constitutes the GEDI group, he became Chief Executive Officer of the publisher of the daily GNN publications.
Currently he is Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the GEDI Publishing Group.

GEDI publishes la Repubblica, La Stampa, Il Secolo XIX, 9 local daily, the weekly l'Espresso and other magazines. Part of the group are also three national radio stations (Radio Deejay, Radio Capital and m2o). GEDI is even present in the internet sector and through Manzoni collects advertising for his and for third-party publications. Chairman is John Elkann and company’s CEO is Maurizio Scanavino.
