Ben Laufer is a Principal Scientist in the Department of OMNI Bioinformatics and jointly appointed to the Department of Neuroscience at Genentech since September 2021. Prior to this role, Ben served as a CIHR Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Davis from September 2016 to August 2021, where responsibilities included integrating data from various sequencing methods to study the epigenomic interaction of neurodevelopment and environment, as well as establishing a low-pass whole genome bisulfite sequencing workflow. Ben gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at Western University from September 2010 to April 2016, instructing on laboratory techniques and scientific theory in advanced genetics courses. Ben holds a Ph.D. in Biology (Cellular & Molecular Stream) and a Bachelor of Science with Honours Specialization in Genetics, both from Western University.
