Hong Wang

Hong Wang is an accomplished leader in safety assessment and toxicology, currently serving as Vice President at Genentech since June 2023. Previously, Hong held the position of Corporate VP and Head of the Qilu Innovative Pharmaceutical Research Institute at Qilu Pharmaceuticals from October 2021 to May 2023, as well as Chief Scientific Officer. Hong's extensive experience at Genentech from 2006 to 2021 includes roles such as Senior Director and Director of Toxicology, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing nonclinical safety programs and regulatory submissions in oncology and immunology. Prior roles include Staff Scientist at Celera Genomics and PDL BioPharma, where Hong led various toxicology efforts and managed teams. Hong earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Beijing University, School of Medicine.
