Jorg Blumel

Jorg Blumel, PhD, is a seasoned leader in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Head of Development Sciences at Genentech since September 2014. In this role, Jorg Blumel is responsible for the strategic, scientific, and organizational leadership of four major independent departments, as well as two cross-functional departments. Prior to this, Jorg Blumel held various leadership positions at MedImmune and Merz Pharmaceuticals, focusing on safety assessment and toxicology. Jorg Blumel's educational background includes a PhD in Toxicology, Immunology, and Immunotoxicology from the University of Düsseldorf and a Diploma in Biology from The University of Göttingen.
