Brian Watson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in materials and medical technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at General Atomics since May 2011, Brian leads the Materials and Medical Technologies group, having previously held the role of Principal Engineer, where Brian managed interdisciplinary teams and secured $30 million in funding from various government agencies. As a Co-Founder and Technical Advisor at Vanadis Labs from January 2014 to January 2017, Brian focused on developing novel assays to mitigate anaphylactic reactions. Earlier roles included a Visiting Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, where advanced materials characterization and biofuel development were key areas of focus. Brian holds a PhD in Materials Engineering and an MS in Materials Science from the University of Maryland, along with a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
