Paul Beharrell is a highly experienced engineer specializing in superconducting magnet systems and cryogenic technologies. Currently serving as Principal Superconducting Magnet Engineer at General Atomics since June 2019, Paul has previously held significant roles, including Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Quantum Design, where responsibilities included leading technology development in superconductive components. Notably, Paul was the Managing Director at Cryotechnica International Ltd, focusing on the commercialization of superconducting magnet technologies and establishing a joint venture in China. Educationally, Paul holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics and a Master’s Degree in Superconductivity and Cryogenics from the University of Southampton, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Lancaster University.
