Mike O'Dea has extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, currently serving as Group CFO and North America CFO and Group Controller at Gen Re since August 1999. In these roles, Mike oversees the reporting and accounting for North American operations across both property and casualty (P&C) and life reinsurance as well as primary insurance companies. Additionally, Mike is responsible for the global consolidation of operations for reporting to Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. Previously, Mike held the position of CFO and Principal Officer overseeing the P&C and life business units at the London Branch of General Reinsurance AG. Mike also served as UK Treaty Regional Manager, managing operations in the UK and Ireland with a premium income exceeding £50m. Before joining Gen Re, Mike worked as a Senior Manager in the Financial Services Practice at Ernst & Young in London from September 1993 to April 1998.
