Karlene Campbell is a seasoned medical librarian with extensive experience in library and information science. Since February 2016, Karlene has been serving as a Medical Librarian at Genesis Health System. Prior to this role, Karlene worked at Palmer College of Chiropractic from January 2007 to February 2016 as a Technical Library Assistant focusing on Electronic Resources and Serials. Karlene began the library career as a Library Assistant at Black Hawk College from January 1999 to January 2007. Academically, Karlene holds a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned between 2008 and 2010, and a Bachelor's Degree in Board of Trustees-General Studies from Western Illinois University, completed from 2005 to 2008.

Genesis Health System exists to provide compassionate, quality health services to all those in need. It contains 665 inpatient beds across the entire health system, and employs 5500 people. Genesis was formed from the partnership of its two predecessor hospitals, Mercy Hospital (founded in 1869) and St. Luke's Hospital (founded in 1885), both in Davenport. Genesis Health System was formed in June of 1994, and now serves a 10 county area with three urban hospitals and three critical access hospitals in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
