Additionally, Nisha has completed a final year project during their undergraduate degree and a summer internship on plant tissue culture techniques at M S Swaminathan Research Foundation in Chennai, India. During their internship, they gained experience in plant tissue culture techniques and worked with various plants.

Nisha Chander has a strong educational background in the field of biochemistry, molecular biology, and biotechnology. From 2014 to 2021, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at The University of British Columbia. Prior to that, they completed their Masters degree in Biotechnology Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 2009 to 2011. In 2005, Nisha received their B.Tech degree in Biotechnology from SRM University.
