Fred Spiess

Fred Spiess has worked in various roles over the years. Fred began their career as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Ismeca from October 1994 to December 2000. Fred then worked as a Design Engineer at Maxwell Technologies from December 2000 to April 2002. After that, they joined Alere, San Diego as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer from November 2002 to February 2017.

Since 2017, Fred has been associated with GenMark Diagnostics. Fred started as a Sr. Manager of Automation Engineering from February 2017 to March 2020 and later progressed to the role of Associate Director of Product Engineering from March 2020 onwards. In both positions, they were responsible for automation, process development, and product engineering.

Throughout their career, Fred has gained extensive experience in engineering and manufacturing, focusing on automation, process development, and product engineering.

Fred Spiess obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Engineering School of Neuchatel in Switzerland from 1992 to 1994. Fred then pursued a Certificate in Finance at UC San Diego from 2006 to 2008. Later, in 2010, they attended UC San Diego again to earn a Certificate in Lean Enterprise.
