Mian Akbar Shah is currently a Research Engineer at Genmo, leading the development of Mochi1, a leading open-source video generation model, and is engaged in next-generation media generation models. Prior experience includes serving as an AI Resident at Meta, focusing on multimodal generative AI and text-to-video generation, as well as a Research Engineer at EPFL, where Mian contributed to 3D reconstruction of human organs and detection of ground-based obstacles. Mian also held a Deep Learning Intern position at PTC, working on multi-object pose estimation, and was a Graduate Research Assistant at ETH Zürich, researching unsupervised depth estimation in videos. Mian holds a Master's degree in Robotics Systems and Control from ETH Zürich and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from The University of Manchester.
