Amit Shah

Amit Shah is a seasoned professional in the field of biochemistry, molecular biology, and biophysics, holding a PhD from the University of Minnesota. Currently serving as the Director of Enzyme (Biocatalyst) Engineering at Geno since February 2011, Amit has previously held multiple roles at the same company, including Principal Scientist and Senior Research Scientist II. Prior experience includes an independent contractor position at Alere San Diego, focusing on assay development, and a research scientist role at Genomatica, where Amit worked on bio-based chemical production projects. In the earlier stages of the career, Amit contributed to cancer-based drug discovery programs at SGX Pharmaceuticals and led the Hepatitis C viral polymerase drug discovery efforts at Anadys Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, Amit completed a NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at Yale University, investigating the role of mutagenesis in cancer initiation.
