Gionata Scalcinati

Gionata Scalcinati has a diverse work experience ranging from research and development roles to marketing assistance. Gionata has been working at Genomatica since 2014, holding various positions including Fermentation Engineer II, Sr. Research Scientist Systems Bioengineering, Sr Research Scientist II / Team Leader, and currently, Associate Director Experimental Systems Biology. Prior to that, they worked at Gevo as a Quantitative Physiologist. Gionata has also gained research experience at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, where they completed their PhD, and at the Technical University of Denmark as a Research Assistant. Additionally, they worked as a Marketing Assistant at PerkinElmer and as an MSc student at the Technical University of Denmark. Earlier in their career, they were a BSc student in Porro's Lab.

Gionata Scalcinati attended Chalmers University of Technology from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering. Prior to that, they studied at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca from 2005 to 2007, obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Industrial Biotechnology. In their earlier academic years, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Industrial Biotechnology from the same university between 2003 and 2005.
