Gregg Karawan

Gregory Karawan is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the insurance and litigation sectors. Since January 2000, Gregory has served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Genworth, where responsibilities include overseeing the legal department for domestic insurance and wealth management operations, managing a team of over 120 legal and compliance professionals, and supervising global litigation efforts. From May 2012 to December 2022, Gregory was a member of the Board of Directors for the Securities Investor Protection Corporation, having been presidentially nominated and confirmed by the U.S. Additionally, Gregory held the position of Partner in Litigation at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal from August 1990 to December 1999 and worked as an Associate in Litigation at Ashinoff Ross & Korff from September 1988 to July 1990. Gregory holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Binghamton University.
