Rebecca Terns, Ph.D., serves as the Director of Research Development at the Georgia Institute of Technology since April 2020, where responsibilities include leading the Office of Research Development to support large-scale research initiatives for faculty. Prior to this role, Rebecca was a Proposal Enhancement Officer at the University of Georgia from January 2017 to April 2020, consulting with faculty and administrators to enhance the university's research portfolio. Rebecca has extensive experience in biomedical science, having co-directed a major research program in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Georgia from 2000 to 2016, focusing on RNA-driven biological pathways. Accomplishments include directing multiple successful research projects, publishing over 75 scientific articles, and authoring four patents in CRISPR-Cas technology. Rebecca has a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from Penn State University.
