Phoebe also served as a Technical Committee Member at Geoscientists Without Borders from January 2015 to December 2018. Phoebe'sprevious roles include being a Water Resources Scientist/Senior Project Manager at Great Ecology from November 2007 to November 2008, an Associate at Prospect Asset Management, Inc from December 2005 to October 2007, and a Project Coordinator/Water Resources Technical Advisor at Long Island Pine Barrens Society from April 2005 to October 2005. Phoebe also worked as a Hydrogeologist at Pattle Delamore Partners from July 2002 to November 2004 and held the position of Executive Member and Chair of Education Subcommittee at New Zealand Hydrological Society from January 2002 to November 2004. Phoebe'searliest position was as a Scientific Officer (Water Resources) at Hawkes Bay Regional Council from February 2000 to June 2002.
Phoebe McMellon pursued their education in the field of Geology, with a focus on Hydrogeology. Phoebe first attended Long Island University from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Following this, they pursued further studies at the University of Canterbury from 1998 to 2000, where they were awarded a Master of Science degree. Phoebe was a recipient of the Fulbright U.S. Scholarship during their time at the University of Canterbury.
