Yongwei Niu

Yongwei (Steven) Niu is a highly experienced Senior Embedded System Developer at GEOTAB since November 2019, specializing in the development of firmware for telematics devices with a focus on wireless communication. Prior to GEOTAB, Yongwei Niu worked as a Wireless System Validation Engineer at Intel Corporation, where validation of wireless baseband and platform was conducted while supporting Apple in launching new cellphones globally. Previous roles also include Wireless Devices Certification Consultant at Bell and Wireless Terminal Certification Specialist at mobileLIVE, where expertise in wireless protocol conformance and automation testing was honed. Yongwei Niu began a career as a Senior Protocol Stack/Firmware/Field Application Engineer at Spreadtrum, contributing to the development of TD-SCDMA and GSM/GPRS protocol stacks, following an initial position as a Software Engineer at Sunyard System Engineering Co., Ltd., where CTI and IVR software were developed. Yongwei Niu holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University.
