Hany Farid is a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, since June 2019 and currently serves as Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer at GetReal, while also being a member of the Board of Directors for the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative. With extensive experience in advisory roles, Hany Farid acts as a Senior Advisor for the Counter Extremism Project and Truepic, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Human Rights Center at UC Berkeley School of Law. Previously, Hany Farid was a Professor at Dartmouth College for two decades and held the position of Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder at Fourandsix Technologies, Inc. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University at Albany, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Rochester, supplemented by postdoctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
