Théodore Meynard-Piganeau

Théodore Meynard-Piganeau has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Théodore began their career as a research intern at Cornell University in 2014. Théodore then worked as a responsible for contracts between the industry and the Student Union at Ecole Centrale Paris from February 2013 to February 2014. Théodore also served as a sailing instructor at Club Nautique Taussat Cassy from July 2011 to August 2013.

In terms of their professional experience, Théodore started as a blue collar intern at Sanofi in June 2013. Théodore then worked on a one-year project for R&D at Solystic from September 2012 to June 2013. Théodore also completed two internships at Airbus Group Inc., one from February 2015 to August 2015, and another from January 2017 to July 2017.

Théodore's data science career started at optilyz, where they worked as a data scientist from September 2017 to October 2018. During this time, they implemented data cleansing and fraud detection tools, created a data lake in compliance with GDPR, and researched machine learning algorithms to improve marketing campaigns.

From October 2018 to June 2020, Théodore worked as a machine learning engineer at plista. Théodore deployed BERT to enhance semantic recommendations, optimized gradient boosted models for recommendation, migrated the machine learning recommendation stack to AWS, and organized monthly paper reading sessions for the machine learning, data engineering, and data analytics departments.

Currently, Théodore is employed at GetYourGuide as a senior data scientist since August 2020. In this role, they are responsible for defining, building, and shipping data products. Théodore has worked on several projects, including building a recommender system, implementing an ML platform, and iterating on machine learning models through A/B testing.

Théodore Meynard-Piganeau started their education at Lycée gustave Eiffel from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained their Baccalauréat degree in the field of study "S" (science). Théodore then attended Lycée Pierre de Fermat from 2010 to 2012, focusing on "Mathématique, Physique et Science de l'ingénieur" (mathematics, physics, and engineering sciences). Following that, they pursued higher education at CentraleSupélec from 2012 to 2017, earning a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering. In 2014, Théodore also had a brief stint at Cornell University but did not obtain any specific degree. Lastly, from 2015 to 2017, they studied at USP - Universidade de São Paulo, completing an Engineer's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering.
