Sopnendu Mohanty currently serves on the Governing Council of the SME Finance Forum and as a Board Member at A*STAR, while holding the position of Chairman of the Board at Elevandi. As Chief Fintech Officer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore since August 2015, Sopnendu Mohanty is responsible for regulatory policies and development strategies. Additional roles include Board Mentor at Proxtera, Member of the Global Advisory Council at the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center, and Co-Chair of the Steering Committee at the National University of Singapore's Asian Institute of Digital Finance. With extensive experience at Citi, Sopnendu Mohanty's past positions include leading innovation programs and managing operations across the Asia Pacific region. Educational accolades include an Honorary Doctor of Letters from KISS, a Senior Practitioner Fellowship in FinTech from Murdoch University, and various fellowships in finance and fintech from Singapore University of Social Sciences and Cambridge Judge Business School.

GFTN
The Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2024 to harness technology and foster innovation for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems through global partnerships. GFTN organises convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invests in technology startups with the potential for growth and positive social impact through its venture fund. We work closely with governments, founders, investors, and corporate leaders to drive collaboration, education, and new sources of value at the industry and national levels. Our initiatives have convened over 350,000 people since 2016 to drive the growth of FinTech through events, closed-door roundtables, investor programmes, educational initiatives, and research. Our flagship product is the Singapore FinTech Festival alongside fast-rising platforms, including the Point Zero Forum and the Japan FinTech Festival.
