Deputy Chairman at GIC

Lawrence Wong currently serves as Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office in Singapore since June 2022. Wong is also the Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the GIC Investment Strategies Committee, with a tenure at GIC beginning in November 2018. In addition, Wong holds the position of Director at the Ministry of Finance in Singapore since August 2016 and has recently chaired the International Advisory Council for the Singapore Economic Development Board from July 2023 to May 2024. Wong previously served as Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore from May 2021 to May 2024 and has held various other ministerial roles in Singapore, including Minister for Education, Minister for National Development, and Minister for Culture, Community and Youth. Lawrence Wong earned a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a MA in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
