Eric Pilmore

Eric Pilmore has a long history of work experience, beginning in 1985 at the Navy Personnel R&D Center as a Software Engineer, where they worked in computer graphics programming using Unix/C. In 1987 they joined NCR as a Principal Programmer/Analyst, where they developed a test framework to facilitate automated testing of NCR proprietary mainframes from a standard Unix machine. From 1993 to 1996 they worked at Cray Research as a Software Engineer, where they were involved with low-level Operating System development and some platform bring-up. In 1996 they joined Sun Microsystems, Inc. as a Sr. Staff Engineer, where they worked on the Solaris Operating System. From 2007 to 2017 they worked at Broadcom Limited, beginning as a Manager of Firmware Engineering, where they contributed as a developer and manager of a team of firmware engineers working on security related firmware in the Digital Video Technology group. Eric then moved to a Sr. Principal Firmware Engineer role, where they were responsible for ownership for data authentication subsystem, secure boot process, and tool development to facilitate automated testing and integration. Finally, from 2017 to the present, they have been Manager and Sr. Principal Engineer at GigaIO.

Eric Pilmore completed their Master's Degree in Computer Science from UC San Diego in 1992. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from UC San Diego in 1987.
