PETER FIACCO

Peter Fiacco has over 28 years of experience in the technology industry. In 1991, they began their career as a Co-Founder and VP of SAN and Network Engineering at Emulex, an Avago Technologies Company. PETER led global Advanced Development teams and was the key driver for the growth of the company from zero to 1,000 employees and annual revenue from zero to $500M. Additionally, they served as an Adjunct Professor of Engineering and Computer Science at California State University, Fullerton, where they founded the Computer Engineering curriculum.

In 2014, they became the Senior Director of Network Products at QLogic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cavium, Inc. PETER integrated a high performance/SmartNIC Ethernet group into QLogic, which drove the company valuation to $1.3B for acquisition by Cavium.

In 2015, Peter joined Cadence Design Systems as the Director of Advanced Mixed Signal IP Engineering. PETER led a global high-performance, analog mixed-signal intellectual property (IP) application engineering team for DDR3/4, SERDES, PCIe, MIPI, USB, Tensilica CPUs, FLASH/SSD interface for semiconductor nodes: 16nm, 14nm, 10nm, 7nm. PETER also led strategic BizDev for Intel, TSMC, Global Foundries, GE, QUALCOMM, Apple, Broadcom and Samsung.

In 2016, Peter joined GigaIO as an Advisory Board Member and former CTO. PETER led innovative work involving PCIe Fabrics, OFED, OFA, Nvidia GPUDirect RDMA, FPGA Accelerators, NVMe, NVMe-oF. PETER also hired and led the SW Dev, QA and HW team from 3 to 12 headcount, demoed the first functional PCIe fabric MVP and helped lead the Series A fundraising.

Since 2006, Peter has been an Advisory Board Member, EiR and Portfolio Executive at UC Irvine, UC Berkley, CSUF, CSUP, OCTANe and UCI Applied Innovations. PETER also served as an Expert in Residence (EiR) at UC Irvine Applied Innovations and was a member of the Council of Industry Advisors.

In 2018, Peter became the CTO of Site 1001. PETER defined, architected, staffed, led and delivered a SaaS, AI-centric, Big Data/IoT analytics platform for smart buildings, hosted on AWS, called Skylight. PETER also grew Engineering from 5 to 35 Java/Angular/Swift IOS Mobile Full Stack Devs, Data Science, DevOps, IT and Program Management.

Finally, in 2013, Peter began their role as Managing Partner at Executive Technology Consulting. In this role, they have been leading Next-Generation Public-Private Partnerships for NASA/JPL, infusing commercial technology into government and “New” space programs, and pioneering Automotive Functional Safety (Reliability, fault-tolerance) to systems that must operate for long periods in hostile environments.

Peter Fiacco obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona, followed by a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Computer Engineering from Cal State Fullerton. PETER also studied Computer Science: Communications System, Parallel Processing, Fiber Optic Networks at USC.
