Donell Thompson Jr.

Donell Thompson Jr. serves as the Director of Secondary School Admissions and the Director of Community Service and Service-Learning at Gilman School since August 2007. With extensive teaching and administrative experience, Donell has held various roles, including Teacher and Site Director at Middle Grades Partnership from 2009 to July 2023. Positions also include Aspiring School Heads Fellow at the National Association of Independent Schools from February 2022 to February 2023 and a Sixth Grade Humanities Teacher at Belmont Day School from August 2004 to July 2007. Previous experience includes teaching at The Fessenden School and Gilman School across different grade levels. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at Johns Hopkins University, Donell holds a Master of Science in Educational Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Dartmouth College.
