Periasamy (Ravi) Chitrampalam currently serves as the Lead of Crop Protection Biology Research at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since October 2022. Previously held positions include Senior Plant Pathologist at Joyn Bio from December 2021 to October 2022, and Research Plant Pathologist at Eurofins from November 2016 to October 2022, focusing on seed health, biologicals, microbiomes, probiotic screening, disease diagnostics, and quality assurance. Prior experience includes a role as Research Scientist at North Dakota State University, concentrating on the management of Fusarium species in soybeans, and postdoctoral positions at both the University of Arizona and the University of California, Davis, where research involved genetic diversity in soil-borne pathogens and the management of lettuce drop pathogens, respectively. Periasamy Chitrampalam earned a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology from the University of Arizona in 2009.
