Karen Rowland has extensive experience in the logistics and retail service sectors, currently serving as the Head of Retail Service & Central Operations at Gist Limited since September 2006. Rowland has held various leadership roles within the company, including General Manager and Frozen Contract Manager. Prior to this, Rowland worked at GIST from 2001 to 2006 as Regional Primary Manager and earlier held the position of Transport Manager from 1996 to 2000, starting as a graduate in a training scheme. Rowland holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and German from the University of Portsmouth, completed in 1996.

As part of the Marks & Spencer group, Gist is fully responsible for M&S Food logistics, holding itself to account for the full breadth of services and partnerships within the retailer. Gist’s 5,500 colleagues operate from the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and as well as providing the majority of M&S Food logistics services, operate a number of logistics services for third parties as well as providing expertise in freight management services across the globe.
