Kevin Rex

Kevin Rex currently serves as the Director General of Security and Emergency Management - Strategy and Policy at Global Affairs Canada since September 2022. Previous roles include Ambassador at the Embassy of Canada to Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania (2018-2022), Director for Eastern Europe and Eurasia at Global Affairs Canada (2016-2018), and Counsellor - Head of Political Section at the Embassy of Canada (2012-2016). Additional experience encompasses positions as Deputy Director of Civilian Deployment and Coordination at Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (2009-2012), Acting Director of Policy for the Afghanistan Task Force at the Canadian International Development Agency (2007-2008), Senior Civilian Adviser to Joint Task Force Afghanistan (2006-2007), and Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Canada at the Privy Council Office (2003-2006). Kevin Rex holds a Master of Public Administration in Public Policy and Administration from New York University (1998-1999) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Queen's University (1991-1995).
