Jon Plavnick is a GIP Credit Managing Director having joined GIP in 2022. He focuses on global infrastructure private credit opportunities and is based in New York.
Prior to joining GIP, Mr. Plavnick was a Managing Director at Oaktree Capital Management where he was responsible for high yield and distressed private credit opportunities. At Oaktree he managed private deal sourcing, structuring, and underwriting and led a number of successful restructuring processes. Before Oaktree, Mr. Plavnick was Head of Asset Finance and Securitization at BNP Paribas for Latin America, where he managed a dedicated team that closed several landmark transactions in the region. He spent the prior 8 years at Deutsche Bank in London and New York as a credit trader and structurer, responsible for structured, sovereign, and corporate deals.
Mr. Plavnick holds an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago and a degree in Economics from Universidad de San Andres, Argentina.
